why do we need collagen?

Our skin comprises 80% Collagen. Its function is to provide strength, resilience and flexibility of the skin. It also gives moisture and elasticity. As we reach the age of mid-20's, Collagen production diminishes resulting to fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks and sagging.

Cosmo Skin Premium contains 20,000 mg of Pure Collagen. It effectively promotes Collagen Synthesis within the body, reversing the signs of aging.

I don't know why I actually bought this one. The assist physician on Watsons recommended me this one because I was trying to find a brightener rather than whitening supplement.

It comes in this cute pink tube shape like those of MnM tubes. The container doesn't say anything much about the product; Just the Serving Size and How to take it. The bottle comes with a brochure containing its product description, intake instructions and its benefits.

I'm only trying to achieve the brighter skin effect but somehow I ended up getting the package. Each container is sold at P120.00 in any Watsons department store. Each container may last up to 2 days but mine actually lasts for 3 days. It suggest you use it for two days but I just cant force myself to drink too much colored liquids since its in powder form.

You need to dissolve this powder to any beverage like coffee, juice, milk shake, fruit shake etc. or else if you dissolve it in water you will taste its original flavor. It tasted like an expired powder milk or a weird milk taste which I hate. I can't bring myself to drink a number of beverage a day. It makes me full and flabby. 

After 2 tubes down, I noticed that my face developed tiny acnes. Although not noticeable, if you touch it you can feel it. It gave me a negative body reaction. The part where I'm most sensitive about is my face, I always want to keep it clean since I wash 'n wear my face everyday; No BB cream, foundation or any make-ups at all., just my daily moisturizer to keep it from drying. Good thing I only bought 3 tubes, I haven't noticed any brightening effects at all! Maybe I'll just use this until it last and would change my supplement after.

Would I recommend this?

Definitely NO. The powder part is already huge dilemma for me. You need a funnel to slip it in beverages or else it will get messy. It also gave me break-outs, these tiny acnes. It didn't lighten/brighten my skin at all. It's a bit expensive also. If you will take it up just as the instruction says, you'll end up spending P1,800 a month just for a collagen supplement. There are other types of collagen supplement that are cheaper and in capsule form.
